Neve Shalom – Wahat Al-Salam

Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam, which means “Oasis of Peace” in Hebrew and Arabic, is the only village in Israel where Jewish and Palestinian families live, work and educate their children in a community of peaceful coexistence and equality. It was founded in 1973 on a hilltop halfway between Tel Aviv/Jaffa and Jerusalem by Father Bruno Hussar, a Dominican priest.
